A Kansas City native and Mizzou graduate, Amy left a career in consulting to pursue her passion for baking and food full time. In 2009 she got her first taste of the food industry at Dolce Bakery in Prairie Village as a baker. While at Dolce, Amy fell in love with everything about being a baker – the early mornings, watching simple ingredients become something beautiful and delicious, and, most of all, working in the company of talented individuals who shared her love of food and creativity.
After four years at Dolce Bakery, Amy moved with her husband to Boston where she pursued a myriad of pastry-related jobs. She is now back in Kansas City and enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of pastry with others through teaching classes. Amy is excited to be back in the vibrant culinary scene of Kansas City just having accepted the position as The Rieger’s Pastry Chef. She is thrilled to join the extremely talented team there and hopes to bring some of her whimsical and nostalgic style to the menu through her desserts.
