Wonder Wonder: KC’s New Imagination Playground
Grace Cantril and I recently went to Wonder Wonder with photographer Blake Hamilton to check out Kansas City's very own experiential playground. Whether you’re a photographer, model, writing a story for MIKCexplore, or just looking to up your selfie game, Wonder Wonder is your next must-visit spot in KC. We had so much fun interacting with the space and taking all sorts of creative photos. To capture our experience, we used a combination of phones and DSLRs.
Wonder Wonder can be difficult to describe. It's part art installation, part immersive experience, and plenty of photo opportunities all rolled into one. In other words, a playground for your imagination! After paying the entrance fee, you weave your way through twenty different experiences, all with unique themes allowing you to play with art, light, shadows, illusions and more to create a multi-sensory experience.
Along with the themed experience rooms, Wonder Wonder also provides a DIY room, which include various backdrops and props. It's the perfect stop for the photographer looking to get anything from simple headshots to extraordinary editorial shots.
This is an experience designed for all ages and backgrounds– whether you’re interested in getting creative new shots for your portfolio, or want to spend the day experiencing something one-of-a-kind. We spent over an hour in the space, which staff said is typical.
Grab a friend, grab your phone, camera if you have one, and go experience Wonder Wonder for yourself!
Wonder Wonder is located inside Oak Park Mall and is open 7 days a week.
