News flash: it’s peak patio weather. Enjoy these spots during the ever-elusive perfect weather period that graces the Midwest.

To the people that love fall and winter: that’s wonderful! But the rest of us aren’t ready yet. I think one of the best ways to fully take advantage of the perfect weather before a season change is enjoying outdoor seating options at all my favorite spots. Whether it’s a rooftop bar with a view, or a few tables to enjoy your favorite meal outdoors, here are my 6 favorite outdoor seating options in Kansas City:

Percheron’s Rooftop Beer Garden l 2101 Central St, Kansas City
I often think of the wonder that is The Crossroads Hotel. They knew exactly what they were doing when they created this masterpiece of a rooftop bar. Their menu consists of craft beers, creative cocktails, and delicious pizzas from the wood-fired oven downstairs. You can’t help but feel glamorous with great music and that jaw-dropping view of the Kansas City skyline.

Seven Swan Crêperie l 1746 Washington St, Kansas City
I love crepes, I love natural lighting, I love outdoor seating. Mix all of these things together and you get Seven Swans Crêperie, a real gift to us all. I visited Seven Swan Crêperie for the first time a couple weeks ago, and it immediately became one of my favorite spots. They offer a wide-variety of sweet and savory crepes, with vegan options, too! Creative seasonal flavors make this a spot to keep coming back to, year round.

Messenger Coffee l 1624 Grand Blvd, Kansas City
It is no surprise that Messenger Coffee’s Rooftop Patio made it to this list– the three story coffee shop has become the heart and soul of KC coffee. They have a rooftop patio with spacious sitting options, an amazing view, and a fireplace for those colder fall days ahead. Just imagine sitting next to the fireplace with a perfectly brewed coffee and breakfast– it's too good to be true.

Extra Virgin l 1900 Main St, Kansas City
What could possibly be better than exploring Chef Michael Smith’s flawless menu and drinking wine on a perfectly placed outdoor patio? Truly, nothing is better than this. Extra Virgin offers some of my favorite dishes in the entire city, such as the Poblano Mac N’ Cheese and the Spanish Meatballs. This place was made for Date Night Heaven, and please, don’t forget to order dessert!

Betty Rae’s Ice Cream l 7140 Wornall Rd, Kansas City
There’s something especially nostalgic about eating ice cream outside with your friends. Betty Rae’s has done an amazing job of creating a variety of flavors to suit your every need. Making each flavor in house with tons of creative toppings, you and your friend group better start planning your escape to Ice Cream paradise now!

Parlor KC l 1707 Locust St, Kansas City
Parlor has been one of my favorite spots since it opened in 2018. If you haven’t been, they are a huge three story warehouse filled with a collection of separate restaurants and menus. Each story offers something new and exciting to try. My favorite thing to do is grab multiple small bites from each restaurant, and by the end of it you have a perfectly curated meal to enjoy on the patio. Their patio is on the third story of the building featuring an attached bar and tons of options for seating (great for social distancing!)
