To get to know Benjamin a little better, we asked him a few questions.

What do you love most about KC?

The people! A lot of cities have great restaurants and amazing coffee shops but Kansas City has amazing people. We might be a city but people here are friendly. It is a midwest mentality and I love it!

If you could create your dream meal in KC, where would you get your appetizer, entrée and dessert from?

Appetizer: Smoked Wings from Char Bar

Entree: Whole fish from Jarochos

Dessert: Butterscotch pudding from The Jacobson

Where does your love of food come from?

Growing up in a traditionally, Mexican household food was a huge part of our daily life. We always sat down together at the end of the day and had a home-cooked meal prepared by my mom. Food is love and we continue that tradition now with my family and friends.

Where would you tell a visiting friend or relative to go in KC?

I love the Crossroads area! There is always some sort of event going on! It's a part of town that is alive with energy. They have great food, fun bars and friendly people. There is wall art all over the area that you can explore while sipping on a delicious cup of coffee.
