Christina Hocker

“I was born and raised by Italian immigrants near downtown KC in the Historic Northeast. So, my heart and soul are tied to this city. It has been a privilege to be able to grow along with it. I have three amazing children, run a high school culinary program, and enjoy exploring all the nooks and crannies in KC with people I love!”

To get to know Christina a little better, we asked her a few questions.

Where is your favorite place to shop in KC?

There are some local boutiques I've come to love - Coco, Lady Bye, and Kate KC (the sister shops) when I'm shopping for myself, and I love Made in KC Marketplace for unique gifts when I'm shopping for others. I try to take any opportunity I can to support local KC businesses.

Where would you most love to live in our city?

I love the charm and character of Brookside. It's where I will be eventually.

What would you do on a staycation in KC?

I've really been wanting to do an entire day dedicated to all things French because of the time I spent in Paris - really missing traveling right now. I'd start with breakfast at Aixois, then lunch in Loose Park (backpack and hammock included) with crepes from Seven Swans, and dinner at Cafe Provence, or Le Fou Frog.

What would you miss most about our city if you ever moved?

The people, of course. They are what makes KC such a special place to live.
