Drinking Coffee in Kansas City: Post Coffee Company
Post Coffee Company has recently constructed a refreshing break from suburbia with its industrial-like vibe and exquisite coffee. The company strives to educate its customers about high-quality coffee - an experience unlike any other.
Post Coffee Company - a suburban anomaly - is a coffee shop based in Lees Summit, Missouri. Although the location is a bit off of the beaten path, Kansas City locals have pinned the shop as a destination coffee shop. This may not be the daily stop on your way to work throughout the week, but whenever you're looking to switch things up for a beautiful cup and equally gorgeous venue, there's Post for your day off. Their crisp, minimalistic space is clearly intended for endless focus, ultimately serving as a community space for customers - old and new. Don't be caught up by just looks, either- this place is set up quite nicely with a stunning, hand-built La Marzocco FB80 and triple set of German-engineered Mahlkonig K30s - some of the best gear on the market when it comes to uniform coffee extractions and maximum flavor.
As you enter the shop, it becomes evident that the baristas are not only there to serve coffee, but also to educate their customers. Post Coffee Company pushes for a contextually novel coffee experience, pillared by the fact that coffee education for all (that tasting room, though!) heightens the entire experience from seed to cup. Here, coffee is no longer a convenience or pastime, but an entirely new lifestyle.
Upon first sip, Ozzie was instantly able to discern the very type of coffee bean that was roasted - a sure-fire signal of the great roast quality of Post Coffee Company's coffee. As far as he is concerned, as long as he has access to African coffee, he's content: "If he could have [his] way, he would only drink coffee from Africa." Post Coffee Company allows him, and us all, to do just that.
