New in Town: Brookside Barrio, Lady Bye, Caffetteria

In the New in Town series, editor Anna Petrow shares a few spots new to the local scene– from food (of course), to coffee, shopping, and live music, the series will provide a glimpse into KC's latest and greatest. 

Earlier this spring, KC saw the new addition of Brookside Barrio and Lady Bye in Brookside, and Caffetteria in Prairie Village. They're exactly the sort of "spring refresh" that you're in need of: breezy, beautiful colors and perfect springtime vibes!

Brookside, if you're looking for the perfect patio hang, look no further: Brookside Barrio boasts plenty of seating, spicy margaritas and fire pits to warm you up when the breeze is blowin'. Luckily, the food is fire, too: share a plate of the jumbo Valentina chicken wings with your crew, or keep the order of shrimp tacos with mango relish to yourself. The tortillas are locally made, the salsa is fresh, and the drinks– let's just say, they'll keep you coming back. 

Lady Bye

Just a few doors down you'll find Lady Bye, the newest boutique to Brookside. The shop hosts a wonderful array of minimalist and feminine pieces- with great price points to boot. It's the perfect place to stop and shop after brunch, and the shop girls are sweet as can be. 

Caffetteria

Caffetteria.

Caffetteria is exactly what PV has been needing: a neighborhood eatery that feels local, upscale, and fresh to boot. Healthy options abound: chia seed pudding, veggie bowls, and stunning signature salads, all served in a highly Instagrammable atmosphere– you've all seen that rainbow wall by now! If that weren't enough, the wide array of desserts are totally irresistible- pastel colored donuts, specialty cakes (hello, matcha icing!) and cookies galore.
