Time to cozy up, kids. Winter is a comin’! The way I see it, you have two choices—get down with wellness and enjoy this magical season or walk around feeling like Gollum. I caught up with KC wellness experts to chat slowing down, grounding down, and getting down with holistic health so you can keep your winter well.

Unbakery and Juicery: | 634 E 63rd St

The Cheers of Kansas City’s wellness community. Simply hanging out in this bright space, dripping with plants, will lift those winter blues. Snag Water #5 with trace minerals to absorb at a cellular level, warm up with Breathe Tea from their in house Apothé line. Just dropping in for a latte? Gucci! Upgrade with adaptogens or elderberry to support your immune system. Whatever you are trying to remedy, Unabakery owner Robin Krause will have an Rx.

Skin KC | 6247 Brookside Plaza

I already stopped into this Brookside skin remedy shop to prep for cold weather. Stephanie Simkins created the products with organic ingredients each with a specific healing component in mind. The perfect winter face care includes Fruity Face Scrub to exfoliate dry skin, Hyaluronic Acid And Green Tea Serum to retain moisture, and daily greens nourishing cream for face and neck. Mah goodness y’all. Your face will be glowin’!

Sage Center for Yoga and Healing Arts | 1907 Wyandotte St

In the heart of The Crossroads is a seasonal wellness sanctuary. Ayurvedic expert and owner, Sarah Kucera, can set you up with individualized winter rituals to keep you balanced. Make an appointment for Abhyanga, a detoxifying warm oil massage to moisturize, support stiff winter joints and work your lymph system. Stop in the apothecary for a few items carefully selected for you. I’ve got my eye on Herbal Ghee with adaptogens to strengthen my immune system and get me grounded!

WELWYTHN | 19 On The Mall

The newest wellness spot in town is a reflection of owner Gina Holmberg. Styled out and sweet as can be. You feel better just stepping inside. What makes this a top-notch wellness beauty boutique? Gina’s depth of knowledge about every product she carries. Winter specific products include an Advanced Hydration Mask to maintain your skin’s moisture and Barrier Restore Serum to maintain your skin’s function to fight off winter bugs. I snagged Propolis Throat Spray, praised for its immune support.

Hand and Land | 11527 Ash St

This health haven is currently located in Park Place but soon to be moving to Midtown. Im stoked! Hand and Land has nature in mind from ingredients to being environmentally friendly. Also, everything is cute. I love poking around for an item to upgrade my home or pick up a gift. For winter I have my eye on Clear Chest, a natural cough syrup, Elderberry syrup, magic for the whole fam’s immune system, and keeping my hands silky smooth with H&L organic hand cream.

Sweatheory | 170 E 19th St

Baby, it's gonna get cold outside. Heat up in the Crossroads at this literal hot spot. Offering infrared saunas and yoga to reduce stress, and relax muscles and joints. Grab a friend for a social sweat to lift your mood or move your body in a Sweaty Soul Yoga class. My winter favorite, slow it down in an infrared deep heat stretch to warm up, detox and restore the mind. On your way out, fill up your water bottle with reverse osmosis alkaline water on tap to rehydrate.
