we take our coffee seriously, over here!

If you don’t know where Hammerhand Coffee is, you can easily be driven to… drive past it. As you head east into Liberty, it is tucked away in a parking lot just past a well-known — yet still somehow always kind of confusing — intersection. By the time you realize it is your turn in, you have already passed it. Or, you may mistake the “once was a Dairy Queen, then a Jazzercise but I think it’s a tattoo shop now” parking lot just to the east of it as the place to be.
But if you visit this hidden gem coffee shop just once, it’s almost impossible to get it wrong again.
Inside is a space transformed. Sleek, clean walls and floors make space for the customer to properly adore the geometric ceiling and mid-century modern touches. The logo, colors, and design of the space are really special, which is open and welcoming.
To the left of the counter is a cute nook that rotates out vendor items and freshly roasted beans. Plants make the space feel fresh and inviting, and the mug designs are always so cute. Seasonal roasts are available, and the bags are perfect for gifting year-round.
This coffee shop is, hands down, the best spot to work or co-work in the Liberty area. It is one of the few locally owned and operated mom n’ pop spots in town. The sense of inclusivity is palpable as you walk into the open and inviting space that has been known to proudly display a Darth Vader figurine above the front door.
Hammerhand works consistently to bring new, exciting, bright flavors to the residents of Liberty and beyond. Their seasonal menu featured a Blackberry Honey Latte, which I had the pleasure of enjoying. This particular flavor combination was striking, and I sipped down that giant mug of hot coffee in record time.
More recently, I stopped in and got an iced Honey Orange Lavender Latte, an endearing flavor that left nothing on the table. Interestingly sweet, balanced, and absolutely perfect for a near-80 degree day in the middle of summer.
Hammerhand offers delicious bakery items like muffins, coffee cakes, scones, and danishes, among others. They also serve fresh paninis, delicious protein balls, quiche, breakfast sandwiches, and more. Your favorite coffee drinks are accompanied on the menu by milkshakes, matcha, kombuchas, and lemonade.
Hammerhand Coffee is a really fun, special, family-friendly space. It’s absolutely worth a trip if you have some time in your schedule– and if you’re local to the area, then lucky you! A perfect corner of Liberty to call home.
