What’s New in Prairie Village
Prairie Village Shops already had our hearts with favorites like Dolce Bakery, Café Provence and Story, but there have recently been some exciting additions worth your time. Whether you want to snack, shop or row your heart out, these spots have you covered!
Caffetteria Café + Marketplace

Owner, Jo Marie Scaglia, who brought The Mixx concept to Kansas City in 2005, opened Caffetteria earlier this year in the old Bruce Smith Drug Space. It is a Modern Café with European influences offering healthy comfort food made from scratch. “Guests will enjoy “slow food fast” in a welcoming, eclectic space with wholesome, scratch-made, dine-in and grab-and-go options.” Some of my personal favorites include the Polynesian Poke Bowl, Old Fashion donuts. Their protein balls are especially awesome!
Golden & Pine
19 On The Mall, PV KS
Owner Stephanie Agne initially opened Golden & Pine in spring of 2016 in East Brookside. This past year she moved to a larger space in the Prairie Village Shops next to Caffetteria, incorporating furniture and all the pillows you can imagine! Golden and Pine handpicks ethically made products for the home with a casual, modern and nature-inspired aesthetic. They also offer hands-on workshops and host community events for locals. Make sure to sign up for their email to stay in the loop!
Health House
3924 W 69th Terrace, PV KS
Health House has been rowing their way to changing bodies, minds and lives since 2013. Helping to build a foundation to create a healthier community. According to Health House, rowing uses 86% of your body’s muscle mass, which provides a more efficient and effective full body workout and burns roughly two to three more calories than standard cardiovascular exercise. It also eliminates impact on your joints, hips, knees and ankles since it is a seated activity. Health House is expanding to LA this year, but just remember- the next hot thing in fitness was born in KC!
Bonus- it is also conveniently located next door to Dolce Bakery, so you can rationalize that on your way out!
