KC: get your drink on, it’s beer season.

My beer journey continues! On this edition, I hit up a few of my favorite breweries on this year’s list. If you haven’t heard of the KC Tap Tour, here’s what you need to know:

Purchase your guidebook at Made in KC in the Crossroads (509 E. 18th Street) or online. This is your personal passport to 23 of the best breweries around the city. Collect a stamp at each stop and redeem your prizes! The season ends November 4.

Boulevard Brewing | 2501 Southwest Blvd

It can’t be a KC Tap Tour without visiting the one and only Boulevard! If you haven’t checked out their beer hall yet, you’re missing out. If you’re gathering your crew together for some day drinking fun, this is the perfect spot for it. They have a bar featuring 30 tap handles worth of seasonal and limited time offerings, including some test beers that you can only try there. There’s also an awesome Photo Booth van, bingo on Sundays, and beautiful patio that overlooks the brewery and downtown skyline. This stop also has one of my favorite coupons in your tour booklet: a free draft pour! Plus a discount at the gift shop downstairs.

KC Bier Co | 310 W 79th St

I love KC Bier Co and its fun, laidback atmosphere. After moving to the Brookside area a year ago, this became one of my favorite neighborhood spots. They have a German themed bier hall and outdoor biergarten with picnic tables, string lights, and plenty of room for the pups to play (did I mention they’re dog friendly?!). They also have a great food menu with lots of German-style favorites, including soft pretzels bigger than your head!

Cinderblock Brewery | 110 E 18th Ave, North KC

Growing up in the Northland, it’s fun to come back see the new and exciting things happening in Northtown. If you haven’t checked it out recently, you need to! And there you’ll find Cinderblock Brewery. They have a great selection of barrel aged brews and a fun patio area. They also have trivia night. Bring your friends, grab a fews drink, and then walk next door to Chicken and Pickle and get your Pickleball game on!
