Profile: 12th Street Post x Cafe Cà Phê

12th Street Post in the West Bottoms has welcomed a new resident into the space– the beloved Cafe Cà Phê of Columbus Park has opened their second spot!

We sat back down with the folks of 12th Street Post to hear the latest on their growing hub in the West Bottoms: Cafe Cà Phê’s new location debuted last month! Read on to hear more about the partnership, and their big plans.

This is such an exciting development! Tell us about what we can expect from Cafe Cà Phê’s newest outpost inside of 12th St Post?

Expect a super artistic, inclusive, space where you can come to shop local goods, get coffee, snag a plant or all of the above! Adding coffee to the Post was something we always knew would happen, just had no idea when. Cafe Cà Phê’s partnership was kind of out of left field, and perfect still! Jackie said they weren't even ready for a second location, however this addition, which they call "Baby Girl,” was the perfect size and space!

Both of your brands are big on collaboration- when did you know you wanted to work together?
I think we've always been drawn to each other for many reasons but both being minority owned businesses, and very queer, we knew we could make magic together! However we had not one clue in the world just how we would be working together until we approached Jackie with the wild idea a few months ago! It was an ambitious ask, knowing they hadn't had even ONE full year under their belt ywt at their new brick and mortar, but they can take on anything. They are a powerhouse like no other.

Community is another thing your brands have in common- was that part of what made this feel like a fit?

Community is literally EVERYTHING. The community growing here at the Post has truly filled our hearts and qw are so so so thrilled to bring Cafe Cà Phê and our communities together! It is absolutely a huge part of what made this fit so well.

What do you hope to see as the new cafe comes to life inside the shop?

We hope that this helps further the safe space we're creating, giving our combined community places to meet, relax, work, read, etc. We're going into this with a go with the flow mindset, and will figure out obstacles as they come!  We're so excited for this new venture and can't wait to see what  Cafe Cà Phê 'Baby Girl Surprises us with.

Will there be any specials exclusive to this location?

There is an exclusive 12th St Post cold brew available, as well as exclusive merch! Our Growing Community t-shirt was designed by Jessica Nguyen, a queer Vietnamese American graphic designer whose work is integral to Cafe Cà Phê’s branding, vision and impact. It’s only available at 12th St Post!

Anything else our readers should look forward to?

Definitely look forward to fall, and holiday to see all of the fun events and opportunities to support various fundraisers, and drives!
