Be Mine, KC: Valentine’s Ideas for Every Type of Love
Love is in the air in Kansas City!
Love is in the air in Kansas City! With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll celebrate. Grab your valentine, your galentine, your bromance, or just someone who makes you happy to explore all that KC has to offer. The great news is that you could do these on Valentine’s Day – or any day!
French “Toast”
No one does amour like the French. If you can’t whisk your love away to France this year, bring France to them. Blanc Champagne Bar (3835 Main Street) has a curated menu to celebrate any occasion. To experience some of the best French bubbles, toast to your love with the Champagne Ballers Flight, and add caviar service to make the occasion even more festive.
Take a Hike
Generally speaking, you may not want to tell your valentine to “take a hike.” However, with Urban Hikes KC, you can literally hike your way around town with your love and a knowledgeable guide. It may be winter, but that doesn’t stop this crew from exploring our beautiful city. Sign up on their website and bundle up for your favorite hike, including the option for a guided tour with wine and cheese on Valentine’s Day.

Blind Date
If the thought of a blind date makes you cringe, hear me out. Local bookslingers – and matchmakers – at Rainy Day Books (2706 W 53rd St) are wrapping some of their favorite love-themed books to surprise brave readers. You’ll select your “blind date” based on how spicy you like your romance books. It’s not every day that you can take a first date home and curl up together in your sweatpants, so don’t be surprised if it’s love at first sight.

Sweet Romance
There’s nothing more classic than chocolates for your love (or yourself!) on Valentine’s Day. With three locations – Shawnee, Overland Park, and Westwood Hills – Annedore’s Fine Chocolates has you covered with heart-shaped chocolates and festive gift boxes. Your valentine will think you’re the sweetest when you hand over chocolate lips as a cheeky treat.

Cuddle Buddies
Looking for someone new to cuddle this Valentine’s Day? About 40 minutes west of KC in Tonganoxie, Trinity Furever Farm offers cuddle sessions with some of the cutest cows you could find. The hour-long sessions give you access to the pasture areas where you’ll meet 13 highlands, 4 highparks (including micro minis and baby calves!), 3 mini donkeys, and 39 goats. These well-socialized animals love snuggling up with human friends. You’ll be provided with buckets of treats and brushes if you’d like to brush the cattle, which they love. Visit their Facebook page or email the owner, Robin Perkins, at robinperkins4321@gmail.com to book your session. Don’t forget your camera!
