9 Prime Spots to Caffeinate like a Champion
Keep your energy up for the World Cup with this caffeine guide!
The World Cup will be taking over the Kansas City metropolitan area in the blink of an eye. Sooner than you know, we will be surrounded by soccer fans from all around the world, people of different cultures and backgrounds who are excited to experience the adrenaline rush of common interest, and the camaraderie of sports.
But you’ve got to be awake to make those memories and share those experiences. Check out all of the hot spots where you can caffeinate during this exciting time – and maybe get to celebrate soccer a little bit more.

Café Corazon
Café Corazon is one of the first stops you will want to make on your tour of Kansas City, especially during the World Cup. This Latin and Indigenous coffeehouse has three easily accessible locations, all which serve delicious, full-bodied coffees, teas, and so much delicious food. While their FIFA menu is being finalized, you can expect drinks representing different countries in the World Cup.
Café Corazon also offers World Cup-inspired coffee and yerba mate blends year-round. One of their signature coffees is the Golazo Blend, inspired by Brazilian soccer culture. Their Argentinian yerba mate, Viva, is sourced from Argentina. If you are a fan of Lionel Messi, then you’ll be glad to know that not only is yerba mate famously his favorite drink, but the café serves it traditionally, the same way he enjoys it.
If you want to hit up a storefront that is Argentina-specific – since Kansas City is playing host to their national team – then head into their Brookside location. Westport is a little more Latin America-inspired, and Crossroads has an Indigenous flare.

Equal Minded Cafe
Equal Minded Café serves the community it resides in as an art hub, third space, and prime caffeination spot. Their endless list of coffees, teas, mocktails, and fruit coolers will keep you on your toes every time you go in. The well-lit space is perfect for coworking or studying, and the ambiance is honestly incredible for socializing.
Equal Minded Café promises new, lengthened hours for the duration of the World Cup, and will be hosting watch parties for the community. On Thursday nights, they will be open until 11pm hosting local live music and a social vibe. A pineapple guava summer cooler sounds perfectly refreshing for the June weather.

El Cafe Cubano
El Café Cubano is a well-established Cuban coffee truck that serves Kansas City at block parties, special events, and more. As part of the Open Doors! initiative, they are setting up shop at 414 East 12th Street, with opening day on June 1st. Otherwise, you can check their social media pages for the working schedule and where to find the truck!
Expect Kansas City’s first and only Cuban specialty coffee brand to release a FIFA-inspired menu when their storefront opens. Their Kansas City Kickoff Edition coffee will be sold all World Cup season to celebrate. You can even score a branded futbol jersey on their site right now to represent your favorite coffee company during the tournament.
Cafe Ollama
Café Ollama – conveniently located right off Southwest Blvd in The Crossroads – is more than ready for the FIFA takeover of Kansas City. The Latin American coffee shop serves an authentic cafe de olla that is to die for, and their World Cup menu is definitely one to check out once it goes live.
Try the new Trionda, named after the match ball, which includes matcha and berries. El Trofeo is named after the trophy, a banana matcha with edible glitter and gold sprinkles. Que Rico el Fútbol will have a sweet cream base, espresso, crumbled oreos, marshmallow, and cold foam. (Can you say “dessert in a cup”?)

Pitchside Coffee
Big fans of the game already know about Pitchside Coffee, located smack dab in the middle of The Crossroads District on Grand Boulevard. The big, open space is perfectly air conditioned to enjoy a game (or two)... and you can! This spot is owned by some of Kansas City’s Current soccer players, whose vision to create community has been realized in this space.
The Pitchside menu regularly boasts delicious lattes, cortados, lemonades, chai, cider, and more. We are not sure what their plans around FIFA may be, but delicious year-round signature flavors include peanut butter caramel, cinnamon brown sugar, and strawberry, while spring specialties include their Carrot Cake Latte, Dirty Earl, and Blueberry Matcha Lemonade. Depending on what day you stop by, you may be able to catch food selections from places like Hana’s Donus, Blackhole Bakery, and Luca Bagels.
Anchor Island
Located in South Hyde Park, Anchor Island Coffee is just a quick detour off of 71 Highway. If you are headed in the direction of the stadiums, this is an easy stop through en route. Not only can you grab delicious food like bagels, tamales, and even a Monte Cristo sandwich throughout the day, but their caffeine menu is stacked. We are unsure what their plans are for the World Cup, but we do know we will be stopping in.
One of their signature beverages – and my favorite – is the Blueberry Caffe, their spin on a creamy blueberry latte. And if you want to try something a little bit out of left field, you may end up really enjoying the Dirty Sunrise, made of shaken espresso, chocolate, milk, orange juice, and grenadine.

Parisi Coffee
One of Kansas City’s most widely-distributed roasters, Parisi Coffee, recently announced a new blend ahead of the 2026 World Cup season. “Soccer Capital of America” is made of African and Central American beans, blended in partnership with Kansas City’s own Sporting KC Football Club. Grab a bag and indulge in the fierceness of this brown sugar-forward, medium blend.
The Nook at The Downtown Library
From now until August, stop into one of the cutest cafés in the downtown area for a FIFA-inspired beverage. Tucked away just to the right of the main entrance of the Kansas City Public Library on 10th Street, you will find a classy, inviting space called The Nook. A collaboration between The Prospect KC and the library, you can regularly purchase incredible drinks, pastries, and light eats from their menu. Each item is handcrafted by The Prospect KC Culinary Future students, and you may never have had a better quiche in your life. (If the quiche of the day involves caramelized onions, do not turn it down!)
Summer FIFA Specials include a Buenos Aires Brown Sugar Cold Brew, Marrakech Sparkling Hibiscus Lemonade, Curaçao Peach Citrus Fizz, FIFA Summer Tea, and the Amsterdam Orange Mocha, which I was absolutely smitten with. The perfect balance of citrus and chocolate makes it an enticing way to caffeinate.
Made in KC
The Made in KC Café locations downtown and at The Plaza are getting into the soccer spirit in a different way. They will be rolling out custom-branded “Kickin’ it in KC” cans for your morning brew. Decorated so cute and made simple for your on-the-go lifestyle – hey, you’ve got to get to the stadium for a game – these cans are available to outfit your 16 ounce iced beverages and will eventually also be available at the Outta The Blue in Overland Park.
Looking to accessorize your caffeination experience, and set the tone for World Cup season? Stop in to the effing candle co. booth at the Made in KC marketplace at The Plaza. There, you will find a Paris of the Plains collection that includes a cute postcard, a croissant bag charm, and a candle that smells just like a Parisian bakery. You can find a With Love From Kansas City mini drop that includes a travel candle and a soccer ball bag charm while supplies last, courtesy of Melty.
