Anna Petrow

Anna works on the Made in KC team as the editor in chief of Explore, working with local writers and doing some of her own exploring to keep up with the latest in KC. Anna’s photography is guided by her love of eating well and traveling often. Following her mantra that life is better spent in new places, Anna’s work captures the beauty of her surroundings, whether that be on the shores of the Amalfi Coast or in a Midwest diner. Her wide ranging clientele includes James Beard award winning restaurants, multinational corporations, and international newspapers and magazines.

To get to know Anna a little better, we asked her a few questions.

If you could live in any Kansas City neighborhood, which one would you choose?

Westside. The houses are adorable, it's such a fun area to walk around, and some of my favorite local spots are there– Westside Local, Bluebird and Goat Hill Coffee.

What's your favorite weekend getaway?

I always love a weekend in Weston. It's easy to get to from KC, picturesque, and has lots to do. I love picnicking with a sandwich at Green Dirt Farm's Creamery (plus a scoop of sheep's milk ice cream!), strolling down the Main Street shops, and enjoying a beer at O'Malley's Pub.

If you could take any KC restaurant/cafe/bakery to a deserted island, which one would you choose?

Antler Room, of course! All the pasta I can eat, inventive cocktails, creative small plates- sign me up for this island!
