It’s Nice to Meet You — Introducing Enchanté
One of Kansas City’s newest bakeries brings Paris, pastries and perfection to the plains.

When meeting someone for the first time, especially after a particularly fond encounter, it’s not uncommon for the French to say enchanté — an endearing iteration of “it’s nice to meet you.” Now, for those of us who haven’t brushed up on our French in some time, it’s not difficult to translate to the English derivative enchanted. And that’s precisely what you’ll be in Kansas City’s stunning new bakery and pâtisserie.
Enchanté is brilliant, developed by the equally brilliant Heather White — restauranteur and owner of sister businesses Cheval and Tailleur. Between all three spaces, you’ll experience a very familiar and curated experience, seemingly plucked from Paris and exuding all the moodiness you can handle. Yet each space maintains its own unique identity.
Enchanté is quaint and inviting, with a warm ambiance to help you start your morning off right. Each element — from the antique seating, framed pictures on the wall, exposed brick and decorations — complement each other, making for a very distinct (and Instagrammable) setting. These surroundings actually make it hard to leave since there’s so much to take in and enjoy. And, most importantly, the people always offer a warm welcome and are genuinely happy to see you, so say hello to Heather, Karly and the entire team when you visit.
At Enchanté, everything is baked fresh daily. The masterminds behind each made-from-scratch masterpiece, Danielle and Kirsten, pour their hearts into their craft. It’s not difficult to see (or taste) that they’re passionate about their creations. These delicately-crafted pastries, savory bites and decadent desserts line the glass display, with a promise of new items on the regular. Treats in hand, grab your coffee to go or take a moment and grab a seat to enjoy the environment that Enchanté has developed.
Having just opened in late January ‘23, it’s already apparent that Enchanté has all the makings of being a truly special, one-of-a-kind experience in Kansas City. The pastries, energy, feel-good vibes and environment offer a sense of fresh familiarity, one that is absolutely worthy of your time. But, as always, don’t take my word for it.
