To get to know Kelly a little better, we asked her a few questions.
If you could create your dream meal in KC, where would you get your appetizer, entrée and dessert from?
I’m never one to shy away from eating my way through the city. There are a million perfect combos with all the incredible food in KC, but my current pick would be to start with the pastor quesadilla at Carniceria y Tortilleria San Antonio, follow with a burger at The Savoy, and finish the night with chocolate chip bread pudding at my favorite window table at Pot Pie in Westport.
Where is your favorite place to shop in KC?
Kansas City is full of amazing local shops. I love spending a Saturday morning walking the Trolley Trail to grab perfect items I didn’t know I needed from Crestwood Flowers, The Tea Market, and Sierra Winter Jewelry in Brookside.
What would you do on a staycation in KC?
I'd have a leisurely breakfast on the patio at Aixois and pop into the Nelson-Atkins for a dose of calm. I'd spend the afternoon picnicking at Loose park and try to catch a game if the Current or Royals were in town. My night would end at High Hopes for campfire s'mores and black sesame ice cream before I tucked myself into a charming room at The Truitt.
