To get to know Annie a little better, we asked her a few questions.
What's your favorite coffee shop (and drink)?
My first-ever favorite KC cafe would have to be Broadway Coffee - there's just too many good memories in there to count, you can always count on a chair and solid wifi to get work done. However, I'm also one to jump on the new-and-cute cafe bandwagon - the Made in KC Cafe vanilla latte is *the* latte of my dreams, and Messenger seriously swooped me off of my feet with their breakfast menu and 3-story cafe (if you can even call it that).
If you could take one Kansas City restaurant/bakery/cafe with you to a deserted island, which one would you choose?
My answer to this is totally unfashionable and not cute at all, but most likely Rudy's Tenampa Taqueria or anywhere with house-made ranch dressing. And by "deserted island," I mean NYC, because the Tex-Mex and homemade ranch selection here is absolutely dismal. Midwest cooking all. THE. WAY. (Or Winstead's, because, ya know...the answer is always Winstead's.)
Where's your favorite weekend getaway?
Does NYC count? Just out of KC, I would say Omaha. I have a lot of family there and my grandma lives about 45 minutes outside on a "lake" where many Memorial Days and Fourth of July's have been spent.
