My favorite local shop, Fetch, recently posted on Instagram saying “thank god the holidays are over, we’ve been drunk since Halloween” and it hit just a *little* too close to home. October to January end up being some of our booziest holidays and it’s hard not to get caught up with the festivities and merriment every year. That is until it’s January 1 and you notice just how dehydrated you feel. So, you start your Sober January pledge and find yourself longing for some actual flavor while sipping your fourth club soda and lime. Luckily, there are a few establishments in town that feel your pain. From mojito mocktails to old-school soda fountain sips, check out the best non-alcoholic drinks you can find in our Paris of the Plains.

KC Pinoy | Four Seasons

KC Pinoy matches their flavorful food with flavorful bev, including some Filipino fruit juices not normally found in Kanas City. My favorite for any time of the year is the Four Seasons, which is a blend of mango, pineapple, guava, and dalandan, a sweet orange native to the Philippines. The Four Seasons is bright, fruity, and pairs well with spicy food.

Brown & Loe | Chocolate Phosphate

More of a post-dinner option, Brown & Loe’s Chocolate Phosphate is their play on an old-school soda fountain drink. Think of a lighter version of a chocolate cherry milkshake. The chocolate is sweet without being overpoweringly so, and the cherry comes through with a deep flavor. You’re probably not used to ordering a chocolate milkshake for a night on the town, but I assure you this will make you forget all about your boozy faves.

Corvino Supper Club & Tasting Room | High Tide

Corvino’s moody setting and social atmosphere just makes you want to cozy up to the bar for a good drink. Enter the High Tide. It is delightfully reminiscent of booze with non-alcoholic vermouth, pineapple, Thai basil, serrano, and citrus. It’s sweet, it’s spicy, and it comes in a little coupe glass, so you fit in with all the cool kids holding cool glasses. If you’re looking for something a little more playful, the Whoo Ha, Cherry Soda! has my heart.

Ça Va | Hall Pass

Yes, you can walk into a champagne bar, order a non-alcoholic drink, and still have a good time. In fact, you can order a few non-alcoholic drinks at Ça Va and still have a good time. They know their way around a delicious beverage, and that’s why I think you guys will love the Hall Pass. They mix pineapple, miso, baking spices, and sparkling water for some good, clean fun– leaving you time to focus on your order of fries.

Tribe Street Kitchen | Pear Mojito

Tribe Street Kitchen enters the non-alcoholic game with a simple menu, but don’t mistake that for simple taste. Their Pear Mojito nails it with the execution of mint, lime, pear syrup, and club soda for a refreshing non-alcoholic take on the real thing. The fresh fruit and bubbles are exactly what you need after a long December.
